ANCMG_LogoCANTON, Ohio (Aug. 5, 2013) – Representatives of North Canton Medical Foundation (NCMF) and Aultman Health Foundation announced today they have reached an agreement that will make the clinical operations of the NCMF physician practice a subsidiary of Aultman Health Foundation, effective Sept.1, 2013. The physician practice will be renamed Aultman North Canton Medical Group.

NCMF’s Foundation will continue to serve the community as a stand-alone foundation focused on charitable giving. It will retain the North Canton Medical Foundation name and will continue its mission to improve the health and wellness of the community by collaborating with other organizations and financially supporting programs that further good health and promote healthy behaviors.

In February, Aultman and NCMF signed a letter of intent designed to pave the way for an eventual agreement. Today’s announcement is the result of a follow-up process designed to confirm the agreement made sense for both parties.

Edward J. Roth III, president and CEO of Aultman Health Foundation said, “We are delighted to welcome the physicians and employees of North Canton Medical Foundation to the Aultman family. We are enthusiastic about the agreement and we are confident that it will offer many benefits to our patients and our community.”

Ronald J. Manse, chairman of the North Canton Medical Foundation board, said, “Aultman’s vision for our clinical operations, as well as the role they see for us in the community and within their organization completely match the objectives we had for our organization when we began the search for a community partner. This is an exciting opportunity for both Aultman and NCMF. Both organizations’ missions, visions and values complement each other very closely.”

NCMF’s physicians and more than 200 employees will become employees of Aultman Health Foundation. On July 1, NCMF’s pediatric practice became part of Akron Children’s Hospital. The newly acquired pediatric practice is Akron Children’s first satellite office in Stark County.

Manse noted the agreement will give its physicians access to additional support services, new technologies, and other resources. Roth noted the agreement will help improve the coordination of care patients receive at various points in the healthcare system.

NCMF currently operates facilities in seven locations in Stark and Tuscarawas Counties. Manse stressed that the new agreement will not change the relationships NCMF’s patients have with their physicians, nor will it alter their choices about where and how they receive health care.
