I am not a North Canton Medical Foundation patient. Can I still have my Radiology and Lab procedures done here? Yes. Our ancillary services are open to the community with a doctor's order. It is our intent to provide you with a facility that has easy, accessible parking and a friendly environment for all of your radiology and laboratory procedures.
If my primary care physician is not at North Canton Medical Foundation, can I still see a specialist? Yes. Although we emphasize total medical care, it is not necessary for your doctor to be on our staff in order to see any of our specialty physicians. We welcome the opportunity to work with other practitioners in the community.
Is North Canton Medical Foundation affiliated with any of the hospitals? No. North Canton Medical Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) qualified not-for-profit medical facility. Since the beginning, NCMF has proven to be a unique mechanism to bring high quality medical care to the community.
What does being a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization mean? The term "tax-exempt," generally refers to the net profits (proceeds after expenses) of an organization being exempt from federal and/or state income tax. Tax-exemption can usually be achieved only through applying for and receiving Internal Revenue Service (IRS) approval. One of the primary benefits of being considered tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) is the ability to accept tax-deductible donations to our charitable programs. Who can answer questions about my physician's bill? Our Patient Account Department will be happy to answer your questions. Contact them at 330-433-1439.
What if I have a medical emergency after hours? Since we are not an acute care or stat care facility, all medical EMERGENCIES should call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest ER or stat care facility.
If you have a non-emergent call after hours, a triage nurse is available to answer your questions at our main number (330-433-1200). We also have a physician on call to go to the ER when necessary or to be contacted by phone if the nurse is unable to handle the situation.
How can I prepare for my doctor's appointment? A visit to your doctor is a mutual learning experience. It is not only a chance for you to learn about health issues and how you are doing medically but also a chance for your doctor to get an update on any changes since your last visit. Here is a list of ways to prepare for each visit: Bring your insurance cards. This helps us confirm that we have your current card with the most recent ID numbers on file and ensures proper billing for your visit. Bring all co-pays and deductibles. Your insurance company expects us to collect co-pays or your deductible at the time of service. Inform us of name, address, telephone number, or contact information changes. Provide a list of all medications you are currently taking (including those ordered by other physicians) and a list of any medications that need to be refilled before your next scheduled office visit. Bring a list of your drug allergies. Let us know who we may talk to regarding your protected health information. Inform us of any out of town hospitalizations or physician visits prior to your visit so that we may have time to get the necessary medical records. For your regular routine visits and follow-ups, bring a list of any concerns you may have. For an acute visit, expect to have your physician address only current problems. Before you leave, make sure that you have all questions answered, medications refilled, etc. with your physician or nurse. If you walk in without an appointment, there may be an applicable nursing charge and you may need to wait. Our staff and physicians are dedicated to providing the appropriate level of care to all scheduled patients
What insurance plans does North Canton Medical Foundation accept? Please see our Insurance Information page for some of the plans we accept.
